  • Can I be a vendor for 2019?

2019 Application for the Marketplace of Vendors will be available on the Vendor tab of our website soon.

  • What's a Regatta?

    re·gat·ta [ri-gat-uh, ri-gah-tuh] noun

    1. a boat race, as of rowboats, yachts, or other vessels.

    2. an organized series of such races

The 2018 Regatta at Lake Arthur featured water-based activities & races:

2018 Pennsylvania Stand Up Paddleboard Race | Capsize & Recovery Sunfish Drills | Nautical Nature Cruise Mini Tours | SummersCool (Kayak, Standup Paddleboard, Standup Paddleboard Yoga, Family Fishing, Catamaran Boat Rides, Flying Scot Boat Rides, Fly Casting) | Le Mans type Start Race | "Race to Watts Bay" and more.

We plan to include similar opportunities at our 2019 Regatta at Lake Arthur!

  • What is #RALAMSP?

If you are on social media (Facebook), you can view and identify messages on a specific topic using a hash tag or pound symbol (#). RALA is simply an acronym for Regatta at Lake Arthur. We encourage you to post from the event using #RALAMSP or @RALAMSP (Regatta at Lake Arthur – Moraine State Park)!

  • What exactly is the Regatta at Lake Arthur?

The Regatta is an annual summertime celebration of Moraine State Park. The event is FREE to the public and will be celebrating its 21st year in 2019, and offers family friendly activities on both the land and the lake. You can come and be a spectator of the event, but we really hope you’ll come out and play WITH us, get active, and try something new. Generally, we want to expose new guests to the park, and further engage those who are already familiar with Moraine through a host of mini-events through the weekend.

  • What exactly is SummersCool?

In 2014, we introduced SummersCool to the Regatta, which included 10+ partners who offered FREE instruction to weekend guests. Available in mini classes, 2018 included: standup paddleboard, family fishing, yoga, kayak, kayak eco-paddle, fly casting, catamaran boat rides, flying scot boat rides, and standup paddleboard yoga, all with personal instruction. These opportunities exist to help guests learn something new at the park and to encourage a return to try again on their own!

  • How many people are expected?

This is a showcase event for Butler County, and we have intentionally reached out to help build awareness for Moraine State Park as a regional resource. In recent years, the Regatta has attracted 15,000-20,000 visitors per year to Moraine State Park’s South Shore.

  • We heard there was a car cruise...

In 2019, the car cruise will take place on both days of the event from 1pm until 4pm at the Point Picnic Area.

  • Is there a finale event?

For 2018, Saturday closed the event with a Fireworks Display presented by Diehl Toyota. Sunday closed the event with the Oliver Outdoor Native Butterfly Release & Tribute Finale. The mass release took place from the main stage, and individuals joined us to honor someone special through the individual release of their Western Pennsylvania Monarch, enhancing the environment at the same time. We plan to continue these traditions next year for our 2019 Regatta!

  • What should I bring with me?

Great question! Sunscreen and a great attitude - it’s playtime at the Regatta!  You’ll want to remember to bring a bathing suit and towel if you plan to visit the beach or participate in a water instructional opportunity at SummersCool.  Otherwise, you may wish to bring a yoga mat if you’re joining YOLA (Yoga on Lake Arthur), or your own lifejacket for SummersCool events (although there will be some available onsite).  Finally, pack a picnic if you wish, or visit one of our many food vendors!

  • What if it rains?

We’ve worked hard on this event all year and will press on rain or shine. There are various tents available for some shelter. Essentially, we understand that when we’re out in nature, nature is in charge. If any events are delayed, we hope to get right back on schedule when any rain clears.

In the event of severe weather, we will actively work to keep you updated on any cancellations or changes in the schedule. Make sure to check social media including Facebook and Twitter for last minute updates, as well as our website.

  • What else do I need to know about the Regatta?

We want you to meet Moraine State Park if you haven’t yet and to make it a part of your summertime plans, this year and every year.  Moraine is easily accessible from I-79 and just north of Cranberry. We’ve really tried to take the best of its history and enhance it with new relationships, new activities and new partnerships to showcase the best of a healthy place.  The 2019 event is scheduled for August 3 & 4, beginning at 10am each day on the South Shore at Moraine State Park.

  • How do I buy Regatta merchandise?

Regatta merchandise will be provided by 3E Studios in our Marketplace of Vendors. Be sure to stop by their booth and check it out!
